So I've gotten a couple of ideas for a humorous "where the stuff on those gossip sites REALLY comes from" fic. It wouldn't call out the T-word by name and wouldn't name any of the actual rumors that were part of this latest Tanukiopalyse. (I haven't seen any of the crap that's been posted about Ruki, and I don't WANT to see it.) But I'm wondering if it would just end up fanning flames that should be allowed to slowly die out on their own. Opinions, anyone? Go for it? Can it? Save it for later down the line, when all this dies down?

There's people who believe there's a genuine interest in the gossip posted on Tanuki. Problem is, there's a lot of other people who think the stuff is BS and get angry at other fans for taking it seriously, or are angry that Tanuki exists at all. Hence, there's wank whenever these translations surface.

This is why I think Tanuki translations should be cordoned off in their own area of the Internet with some sort of lock on them so people can't reblog them. That way, if you want that kind of stuff, it's there and available. If you don't, it's not shoved in your face - and I think the "in your face" aspect (people going to the GazettE tag looking for pix and genuine info, finding Tanuki stuff instead) is what led to this mess.
