So I've gotten a couple of ideas for a humorous "where the stuff on those gossip sites REALLY comes from" fic. It wouldn't call out the T-word by name and wouldn't name any of the actual rumors that were part of this latest Tanukiopalyse. (I haven't seen any of the crap that's been posted about Ruki, and I don't WANT to see it.) But I'm wondering if it would just end up fanning flames that should be allowed to slowly die out on their own. Opinions, anyone? Go for it? Can it? Save it for later down the line, when all this dies down?

Yeah, I decided to shelve the idea. As amusing as the idea of J-rockers trying to one-up each other to see who can post the most outrageous crap is . . . it's probably NOT amusing at all to fans who have been genuinely hurt by other fans because of this. (I still can't believe this got so far that people are being nasty to each other).

But seriously, I'm glad someone's bias had something good posted about them! Mine . . . didn't fare so well. Going by the stuff that came out during last year's Tanukipocalypse (because I've avoided this year's like the plague), Shou "sucks so bad in bed we fear he will never have children" and Kai "smells bad," "moans like a woman," "has a sadistic streak" (okay, that last one isn't entirely bad) and "likes fellatio and the missionary position" (i.e., no imagination). I ended up taking all the Kai material, twisting the negatives into positives and getting a fic out of it (Nice Guy - the "smells bad" part became Uruha ordering him into the shower after a workout).

And I would very much rather not know what they're posting on that thing about Byou, even though I know it's all garbage (and anything about him on that site was most likely made up by a drunken Kazuki).

But yes I get your point. But even with Shou I saw it more in a positive way. Maybe he is just extremly shy in bed (wich I think can be cute too) or did not have the time for many lovers or he is GAY and in love with Hiroto <3 <3 haha ok I am a fangirl :D I am sorry.

So if you are going to write a fanfiction ispired by some of the stuff, go ahead. I will read it with pleasure.

Ha, I like the "It's because Shou is gay" theory. But then again, I'm a fujoshi. ~_^ (Also, if Tanuki is to believed, which it shouldn't be, then those of us who write Shou as seme and Hiroto as uke got the pairing order wrong. ~_^)

No need to be apologetic about being a fangirl - I think we all have one or more biases we'd gladly do the one-night thing with! (Heck, I have three of them).

It's on Tumblr. Somebody started a blog with translations of the notorious sex life gossip site Tanuki, the "reviews" of individual band members' performances in bed ended up under band name tags in Tumblr, and all hell broke loose. It's probably best to avoid that stuff - both the rumors themselves and the wank they caused.

There's people who believe there's a genuine interest in the gossip posted on Tanuki. Problem is, there's a lot of other people who think the stuff is BS and get angry at other fans for taking it seriously, or are angry that Tanuki exists at all. Hence, there's wank whenever these translations surface.

This is why I think Tanuki translations should be cordoned off in their own area of the Internet with some sort of lock on them so people can't reblog them. That way, if you want that kind of stuff, it's there and available. If you don't, it's not shoved in your face - and I think the "in your face" aspect (people going to the GazettE tag looking for pix and genuine info, finding Tanuki stuff instead) is what led to this mess.
