So I sent in my application to get out of that jury duty for a three-month trial. I did exactly what all the travel web sites told me to do - I stated my case plainly and politely that I'm scheduled to travel overseas during the trial period, and sent along a copy of my E-ticket receipt with the dates of travel and the date I booked it (back in April) circled. I also told them I would be willing to do service (read, the normal one-week jury term we usually serve around here) at another time. We'll see what happens. (If I have to report for jury selection, I can probably bring my proof of travel and get out of it at that stage. No lawyer wants a juror who is going to just sit there pissed off for the whole trial because she was deprived of The GazettE. ~_^)

And I got my Countdown Live DVD! Geez, it's small - I haven't seen such a small DVD since GazettE's Maximum Royal Disorder! (Funny thing about MRD, by the way - ever notice that most of the video is shot with the kind of super hi-def cameras they usually use, but the camera used for solo shots of Kai is the kind of standard video camera they use for shooting pornos? It gives the strange impression that Kai has dropped in from a porno universe).

So after that, I have MELT coming in the next week or so, and then SCREW's Neverending Breath a few weeks after that. Yay, it's going to be a liveapalooza! (Have I mentioned I've developed a raging obsession with SCREW in general and Byou in particular in the last month or so? Not that it hasn't been screamingly obvious from my Tumblr and fanfics?)

Also, I'm looking forward to the start of Kink Bingo! I already know what prompts I'm hoping to find on my card this year. XD I just hope they don't add more Vague Prompts Are Vague - I'd like to know what I'm supposed to be writing, thank you! (And please, could they get more attractive banners? Or just provide a blank template to make our own? I know of plenty of pretty J-rock boy pictures that would make good Kink Bingo banners).

And indeed, your sudden obsession with SCREW and Byou in particular is quite obvious. I honestly can't handle Tumblr these days with all these sexy, perverted jrockers flooding up my dash, LOL. XDD

I'm having fun with all the stuff I'm posting on Tumblr as of late because I'm putting creative tags on all those Byou pictures - sort of parodies of the kind of fangirl reactions you normally see on there, i.e. "OMG WHY DO YOU EXIST YOU FUCKING LIFE-RUINER?"

You'll see more fics coming from my new thing, believe me. The muses are all fighting over the new toy. (Except for Kai!Muse, who seems to be rather skittish about him, for some reason. Need to work on that. ~_^)

Also the Livehouse for the Gazette apparently changed. I don't know the new location but a friend told me it is a bigger one and she can take us there (I have no clue where it is ^-^") <3

I hope so, too. I'm still waiting for the final word from the jury commission. I figure if I can't fight it on that round, I'll fight it on the next one - when people are called in to be interviewed for the case.

The US jury system is one of those things that looks good on paper but doesn't work out so well in practice. The Founding Fathers' intent was that everyone would be judged, not by the government, but by a jury of their peers. Fine, well and good - until a case goes more than a couple of weeks, and people are looking at seriously losing work time, family time, etc. Things get worse in the case of sequestered juries - that's when a case has gotten enough attention in the media that the jury is literally locked away from the world every night so they cannot see or hear any of the coverage and stay entirely objective. Put together a long trial and a sequestered jury, and you very often end up with a questionable verdict. The two most notorious cases of that were the trials of OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony. In both cases, the trials dragged on forever, the juries were sequestered and the defendants walked away scot-free - even though there was plenty of evidence that both were guilty. The jury rushed through their deliberations just to get out of sequestration rather than carefully considering the evidence from months of testimony.

I heard about the livehouse change! And as a result, the concert is no longer SOLO OUT. ~_^ Might be a better situation if it's a bigger and less packed venue.

Oh, the latest on that is I received a mailer from the jury commission yesterday saying, "Whoops, our bad, there was a mistake on the last form we sent you. We should have been more clear that this summons was specifically for three-month jury service. We need you to submit your requests again if you can't serve for all three months." *flips tables* I've been watching my mail like a hawk for the "You're free and clear for the long trial, you'll just have to do a standard one-week service at another date" notice, and I get . . .that. So, I submitted my request again. The good news is it looks like they're considering prebooked travel a valid excuse to get out of the long trial.
