Waiting in the Montreal airport to go home after my trip, which was all kinds of awesome. I spent four days with one friend in Silicon Valley, five with another in Quebec City, and today, I took the bus to Montreal and had lunch and bubble tea with aleksiina_26. Yes, after being partners in fanfiction crime for so long, we finally met face to face! She was just as cool as I thought she'd be. We fangirled and talked about ideas we have in progress.

The best thing about the whole week and a half was that on both legs of the trip, we just played it by ear, with no schedule whatsoever (save for a birthday dinner the first night of the Montreal trip). We hung out and watched videos and went shopping and just did spontaneous, fun things. I needed that. I've spent way too much time on a structured schedule, with downtime only on weekends. Heck, even my Happy Fun Away From Home times - cons - have been on a schedule.

Oh, and in Quebec City, we went to a place called Fanamanga that was a combination manga shop, Japanese cafe and just plain hangout spot. They also had Japanese-style karaoke in the basement, which we did for an hour. Not as big a selection as karaoke in Japan - the Japanese music section was light on visual kei - but they did have Cassis, which I sang. The onscreen text actually corrected the Ruklish ("The future was not promised" and "To the future where you are." I sang the songs as I know them. Somehow, correcting Ruklish seems Just Plain Wrong.

So, yeah, that was my trip, and tomorrow, back to reality. Boo. I always hate going back to work and seeing the people I just met in person becoming names on a screen again. But I am very, very glad I went.

Wow! Cassis~ That is awesome and can't believe they corrected the lyrics, LOL. I can't even. It's not Cassis anymore if the Ruklish are purposely corrected. XD

Yeah, correcting Ruklish is... Well, if you try and do that, you can't actually sing along anymore. The words don't fit! XD Plus it does have it's charm...

It sounds like you had an awesome vacation! :) Doing fun and unplanned things like that is the best! Especially when there's also some fangirling thrown into the equation. *g*

Wait! Correcting the lyrics? But. Then it's no longer how Ruki wants them to be, how he sings them! It's... blasphemy! And like misu says, they won't fit into the song! What's wrong with people?!
