Jul. 28th, 2015 05:12 pmWell, I had a Not Good weekend, to say the least. I was driving home from work Friday when I got into a car accident. I have no memory of the accident itself - one moment I was driving, next moment I was in an ambulance being told I'd been in a car crash and was being taken to emergency. My car apparently went headfirst into a curb. They thought at first I had a seizure while I was driving, mostly because I bit the hell out of my tongue. So they stuck me with all kinds of needles and sent me upstairs to stay, and I was in the hospital until Monday afternoon.
While I was there, they found out I have sky-high blood pressure. So they ran all kinds of tests not only on my head but also on my heart. My right arm looks like it's been through a war zone from being stuck with needles in the wrist and the crook of my arm - they kept giving me intravenous blood pressure meds. I also saw a neurologist, who concluded I probably didn't have a seizure - she said the reason I have no memory of the accident is because I had whiplash and a concussion.
So I'm home resting now - they finally sprung me on Monday and sent me home with two blood pressure medication prescriptions and instructions to reduce my stress. Which I plan to do. Quite frankly, I've taken far too much on myself, especially helping out my mother since my father passed away two years ago. So I may be writing a bit slower now - i.e., when I get time in a reasonable schedule, not waking up early on a Saturday morning to be sure I finish and post a fic. (Still planning to have Season of Kink done by the deadline, though!)
By the way, I think I've managed to piece together what happened in the accident. Earlier that day, when I was out getting lunch, I noticed my spark plugs were misfiring and making the car shoot forward. I had been planning to take the car to the shop Monday and have them look at it. My guess is the spark plug misfired in heavy traffic when I was driving home, I twisted the wheel to the right to avoid hitting anyone and I slammed into the curb instead - and I have no memory of the accident itself because of the concussion/whiplash.
(Oh, and I had managed to get the Byou doll I had commissioned from
one_short_fuse the day all hell broke loose. I have him on the bed next to me right now, in fact. I'll take pictures when I'm feeling a bit better).
