Apr. 1st, 2013 04:08 pmWell, from what I’ve seen this morning, people on Tumblr have refrained from really dumb pranks for April Fools’ Day so far. (I HATE the whole April Fool’s thing. Hate, hate, hate it.) Of course, someone posted the inevitable “New GazettE World Tour dates announced! APRIL FOOL!” but I haven’t seen anyone trying to claim anyone had died or disbanded. Yet.
Meanwhile, I found out that my personal picture for getting to the GazettE fall shows is a lot better than I thought it was. Usually, the month of September is a pretty heavy one for me, since we’re at the tail end of the proofreading process for directories. I figured the only show I could possibly try going to was the Mexico one, since that is on a Friday (and would require me to take only one day off from work if I fly down Thursday night).
Well, it turns out our printing schedule is different this year, and we’re done with proofing the first week of September – a couple of days before the Mexico show, in fact. Meaning that also opens up the possibility of going to one of the Europe dates! (No, I wouldn’t go to more than one. Alas). I figure that the Mexico one might sell out immediately – even with the Global Fan Club thing – since all the fans in North America will be trying to get down there, so it’s nice to know I have more options! (The South America shows are a bit to south. My personal yardstick is this: If travel to a certain concert site would be almost equivalent to the time and expense of flying to Japan, might as well go to Japan. Fortunately, most European destinations fall under the yardstick).
(Seriously, someone should take a poll of how many U.S./Canadian fans are traveling to these concerts and send the results to PSC so they can use them as ammo with promoters over here. “See this? THIS is how many fans were willing to TRAVEL TO OTHER COUNTRIES to see this band! Now, let’s add in the number of people who WANTED to go but couldn’t. Still think this band wouldn’t make a profit for you?”)
