puss_nd_bootsOkay, I will admit it - I ended up writing a pairing just because I saw a picture on Tumblr that was irresistably cute. The pairing is the one in the icon here - Yuuki (Lycaon) X Subaru (Royz). I actually wasn't hugely interested in Royz before I decided to do this, though I ended up going through the Royz tag on Tumblr quite extensively before writing this story. The band is, well, cute. Through and through. Looks, music, personalities, costumes, you name it, just freaking anime-character-esque adorable. Which is actually what makes setting Subaru against Yuuki pretty interetsting to write, since they're pretty much polar opposites of each other (dark/light, kinky/seemingly innocent, gothy/cute).
I didn't deliberately time it so that the fic would come out when Royz' new single/PV was released - it just kind of worked out that way. Yay for timing!
Oh, and Royz does make one trip to the dark side - their PV Lilia is an old-school gothy VK clip complete with crosses, tall candlesticks, coffins and Subaru as a vampire. Considering the kind of band they usually are, that's pretty damn impressive.
Otherwise, I'm headed to the West Coast to visit a friend for my birthday in a couple of weeks, and I still need to do the fic for the Kai challenge (I do know what kind of fic it's going to be, just a matter of writing it!)
