All right, what the hay is going on with the Gaze fandom this time? I open Tumblr and see that, apparently, a wank so huge you'd have thought Ruki sprouted wings and was declared a princess had broken out. (Mind you, when these things happen I always see people talking about the wank rather than the wank itself. I think the real wank goes down on Facebook and Twitter and then people come to Tumblr to wank about the wank.

From what I can tell, the root of the wank is this: 1. Ruki says there will be another world tour, doesn't give a date. 2. Someone makes a vague remark during the MTV 81 interview about going to countries they hadn't before next time. 3. Fandom puts them together and concludes the Gazemen are definitely coming to America in 2014, even though nobody said anything of the sort. 4. GazettE announces the fan club lives for 2014. 5. Fandom flips its shit.

I've heard this has gone as far as people attacking Heresy members and sending hate messages to Aoi and Ruki. Really, fandom? Really?

The best part is the people yelling about it all being fan club only when they're not in Japan and have no plans to go. Um, then why does it matter to them? (Plus, we don't know for sure the WHOLE year is going to be fan club only - one friend of mine has a theory that this is all leading up to something big and public around Christmas, like a return to Budokan or Tokyo Dome, and that will be announced during the FC shows).

Every time one of these incidents breaks out, I'm thankful for all the level-headed, NICE people I've met in the Gaze fandom. Proof the wankers are the exception and not the rule.

As far as I know, last year, they did not announce the World Tour at the beginning of the year, but rather a few months into the year. So, um, yeah, no need to flip your shit over that. Also, like you said... it wouldn't make a difference for the vast majority of the wankers if the announced lives weren't Heresy-only! They're not going to be able to go anyway! *headdesk* Things like this just make me want to scream and rage and shake fandom really hard, and then I try to remember they're mostly kids/teens. At least I hope that's the case with these wankers...

Not to mention all the stupid comments on Ruki's instagram, where people argue with each other, and also ask him for xmas presents! Jesus, people! *facepalm*

It would be awesomely nice if this year leads up to something spectacular, but I'm okay with just getting a nice year with pretty pictures and getting to listen to BD a whole lot more! :D

I try to focus on the good people I have met in fandom too during these times. It makes things better. :)

They announced it on March 29th (Good Friday), in fact. And it was a complete shock, because they'd announced Kubana maybe a week beforehand. :)

Oh my God, the Instagram comments. The fact that Ruki hasn't deleted his account shows that the man has superhuman patience and tolerance. I think I would have quit the service and told those people to go to H-E-double hockey sticks a long time ago.

Yeah, I think most of the wankers are younger fans who are jealous of people who can join Heresy and travel. It still doesn't excuse the behavior, though - especially the hate messages sent to Aoi and Ruki. Do they not realize that sort of thing is what drove Aoi off Twitter once? (Maybe we'll be lucky and all the wankers really will rage quit for good. Let SuperWhoLock have them!)

Someone else pointed out that it would have been impractical for the band to announce international dates to a Japan-only audience, and they're right. Why tell the Japanese fans about shows they won't be going to? And the announcement of the Not-Quite-World Tour was in April - I remember it well, because that's when I went scrambling for air and accommodations! Bookings to Munich fill up fast for Oktoberfest season!

I have a feeling Ruki has learned to not even read comments? Maybe that is why he only interacts with fans on the goods twitter? ;)

I think so too, and yeah, the butthurt really doesn't warrant sending the guys hatetweets! :( (Oh, that sounds like a great idea! Especially since I'm not in any of those fandoms! :D )

Oh, very good point yes! A Japanese audience wouldn't be at all interested or impressed by international live dates, and also, they probably don't have anything ready this early in the year, if they're going this year. I have a feeling they won't though... too soon after the previous one for them. April, yes! :D And we didn't get to hear about the Russian festival or Summer Sonic at the start of the year either. So, people should just calm their tits, as the kids say these days. ;)

I can't believe it! How can FANS act THAT way to their IDOLS?!! Honestly, I wonder whether the internet is a Sh*t thing or a wonderful thing sometimes... But I guess, that without it, I would not be a fan of any visual/oshare/angura/kote, etc kei!! Imagine! This stuff gets me so angry! Honestly... I'm a younger fan and I have rather protective parents, so if shows are far away/on a school day (why An Cafe/Miyavi?)/unaffordable/inconvenient (or if people are refusing to go or I'm not allowed because of behaviour), I have to miss out. It upsets me that I can't attend and I have cried about it, if I must be perfectly honest... However, I WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER DO SUCH THINGS!! Aargh!! It disgusts me so much!! Such idiocy! I almost feel ashamed to be a younger fan girl belonging to the same base as these terrible people...
Just do what I did- buy some live DVDs and wait and keep calm.
These people are meant to be idols.
Sheesh! Honestly, I could rant for hours about this. Annoys me so much...

WHAT THE HECK!?!?!??!?!?!?

I understand another world tour but even if they can't make it to america, don't get mad at them. -.-* That's flipping al;fgh-79rhgajdnvpauejhf[aojdnvh98ahejonkdjc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not like they get to choose where to go. Its the company and most importantly the PLACES THAT DON'T REQUEST THEM!

ah, smh.... I get migraines over this is The GazettE, you have my biggest apologies sometimes and I'm so thankful you guys are stronger that to take in the stupid hate letters.

I'm begging tho, people need to at least understand that they really love all their fans and try to reach worldwide. They work constantly almost every day, think about all the stuff they have to do to please the company and US! Interviews, recordings, practice, meetings, and they just finished CODA! It's like they barely have enough time for themselves! Which is really bad too. I want and at the same time REALY DON'T WANT but the guys really need to have like love realtionships too. As a fan, I don't know if they do or not, but I get a bit scared because it seems like Aoi and Ruki has no one. Aoi and Ruki both have friends and all, but Ruki usually tweets about LIves, Interviews, and BM goods. Aoi, random stuff, friends, and guitar stuff but... You know, they have a lot of things to do and its not easy for them. And most things they do, they can't actually say no to cuz its not their idea but the companys. I'm not trying to blame the company, but The GazettE is who they are, and they do love their fans and music. I have watched all LIVES that are available ot me and they way they do the music raw and how they show themselves. The Tears, say more than words can.

SO PLEASE DON'T BASH ON THE MEMBERS FOR SOMETHING THEY CANNOT CONTROL! AT LEAST THEY MAKE WORLD TOURS, BETTER SOME PLACES THAN NONE!

I'm in America too, but as long as The GazettE can have fun doing what they love to do I'll be fine. Even if they aren't coming to America yet, it's still progress. One step at a time. Ill support them no matter what.
so, GAMBARE YO GAZETTO!

Oh, yes, it's mass idiocy on an epic scale. The best part is these people are attacking the band and Heresy members over lives they can't even go to, because they're in the Americas or Europe and don't have the income to go to Japan.

right? I mean i understand the anger and all too, I can't get to Japan and/or be a HERESY but that doesn't mean that I have the right to bash on them all. Everyone has their own finacial problems but seriously. I mean its too childish to play the 'attacking' games -.-

I've always avoided tags. It's the best way I can see to NOT get caught up in the nonsense and the insane fans that only want to bicker and whine. I also agree, I do believe it's the younger fans. But not because they're immature in a negative sense, it's because they are young and simply don't have the life experience needed to understand and control their emotions. That's why they get so worked up and don't know how to keep a lid on it. It just takes time.

I'm excited for the guys, and the fans in Japan who are so looking forward to this next tour. It seems like these guys just don't take breaks. They work hard for their fans and I appreciate it so much, even if I may never get to see them because I don't have the means to travel [USA resident here]...

As far as people attacking Heresy members and the hate messages...... just.... (/_-)
I just can't.
There will always be the wankers out there, for pretty much every fandom, but it's the fandoms we love the most that really have an effect on us.
But the level-headed ones just need to stick together, because it's all we can do.

This tour seems to be something the band WANTS to do. They could have very well declared a year-long hiatus, hung up their Twitters and retreated into silence for all of 2014. Instead, they're doing a fun tour to reward their most devoted Japanese fans. Those of us on these shores are still going to get something out of this tour - live reports, photos, plenty of tweets, etc. The wankers don't see it that way. All they're seeing is "OMGNOWORLDTOUR!111!!!1!!"

And, yeah, it always hurts to see a fandom you love breaking out in idiocy. It's like, "These are my people, my tribe, my fandom family - and they're acting like spoiled children." Lord knows I've been through it enough times - I survived the original Fullmetal Alchemist fandom in its heyday, which used to have a "Days We Have Avoided Fandom Wank" counter on top of its main LJ community. I was in the D. Gray-Man fandom for the "THE ANIME'S BEEN LICENSED OUR FANDOM WILL BE FLOODED WITH IDIOTS" wank, and I'm also in the My Little Pony fandom, which has had some of the biggest, most pointless wanks ever in the last year. (When the series' main character was elevated to a princess, I think the wank registered on the Richter scale). And every one of them has just left me shaking my head and, in some cases, avoiding certain communities for months on end. And the sad part is, the wankers are always in the minority. It's the old case of a few people ruining it for everyone.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Every fandom I've ever been part of, I've always kept in the background because the immaturity of the wankers is one of the biggest pet peeves I struggle with, so I avoid the idiots -no matter how much of a minority they may be, but they are- as much as possible.
to save my own sanity anyway. XD

I feel terrible saying this, but the fandom really turned me off from GazettE. I still listen to them, but I don't get nearly as excited as I used to. I've been directly mistreated by these crazy fucks in several occasions and all the second hand embarrasment could have given me a brain tumor. I used to try and reason with myself that they were all underage and spoiled kids but the worst part is that the most obsessed and aggressive are usually around my age.
Awful.
Ruki is a god, though. He hardly gives anyone the satisfaction when it comes to these things.

I'm sorry you had to go through that - it really, really sucks that a few morons kept you from enjoying something you loved. And, yeah, I've heard that there's some older fans who are far worse than the younger fans ever thought of being - which is really, really sad. When younger fans see their elders acting like that, it just makes them act even worse.

It's insane, isn't it? I think part of the problem is that 'fans' forget that the band are human and not their personal puppets. They've released an album a year (plus a few singles!) for the past three years, they've done a world tour, they've attended several festivals (both at home and abroad), they've hardly stopped touring, and when they're not, they're recording. Is it not possible, that maybe, just maybe, they might want to spend some time at home with their friends and family and actually have a life? Besides, it's only January!!! They don't announce their entire schedule for the year in one go!

I also don't see the problem with the tour being Heresy only - people pay a lot to join, they have to have SOME perks, right? It's really quite depressing. *sigh*

One thing the wankers are forgetting is that last year, the Gazemen pretty much did THREE years' worth of activity. Japan tour! World tour! Overseas festival! Single! Album! It's a miracle the boys are still standing! And people are also forgetting that they neglected their usual Japan tour schedule - which always includes Heresy-only dates - for all of the above. It's to their credit that they're doing this for Heresy - a lot of bands, after a year like that, would have declared a hiatus, shut off their Twitters and retreated into silence.

People also don't realize that fan club lives are really the only privilege Heresy members get, compared to the fan clubs of other bands. Club Alice has a number of meet-and-greet events, including a fan club trip every couple of years, where the fans get to attend dinners, karaoke sessions etc. with the band. They also had birthday parties for each of the members a couple of years ago, with the band in attendance. Siesta is starting to do the same thing, they just announced the first SCREW fan club trip. Heresy doesn't do any of that - they can't, because of the sheer number of members. So the fans are entitled to SOMETHING besides a few extra videos and pictures, a newsletter and that spiffy gold card case. The wankers really need to look at the bigger picture here.

(And, yes, they definitely don't announce their whole schedule at the start of the year! I'm sure there will be something else around Christmas, whether it's a single or a big, public live. I guess these people don't remember how far into the year we got the announcement of the World Tour).

LOL are you even serious? I don't pay attention to fandom things for any band, because I honestly don't give a shit - I spend too much time actually at lives instead of gossiping about stupid shit over things that have nothing to do with me (which is apparently what people are doing?).

I can tell you from a first-hand viewpoint that they have not even vaguely hinted at announcing another world tour - Aoi has said that he wants to go to more countries (said countries listed were all in Asia), and Ruki may have said what he did in the MTV81 interview (mind you, of course he's going to say he wants to do another world tour when speaking to an international audience), but let's get real. With their typical release schedule, they've been long overdue for their typical once a year FC live tour (there wasn't one last year), and do people honestly expect them to do another world tour so soon? And come to /America/? at that? Get real, people. If you want to see them so bad, save up and come to Japan like the rest of us. Good grief.

Edit: I also forgot to mention, in Japan, if you go to more than one oneman live a year of a certain band, there's a 90% chance they're in the fanclub. There are over 1,000 FC members for DIAURA, an indie band that's only existed for 2 years and the FC's only been open for a month. There are over 60,000 domestic Heresy members and almost 500 overseas Heresy members. It's not like they're excluding anyone who wants to go. *rolls eyes*

I wish I was kidding. This is the kind of thing that is almost too bizarre to be real. You had a lot of fangirls stringing together the vaguest of remarks, not applying logic and arriving at a ridiculous conclusion - and then flipping out when reality didn't match up.

Most of the wankers seem to be the younger fans who don't have the financial means to join Heresy or go to Japan - but that most definitely doesn't give them license to attack those who can. And it ESPECIALLY doesn't give them license to attack the band! They're just trying to give back to the fans who, y'know, have paid extra for being in their club. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that this kind of thing keeps them from doing another world tour in the future - and ESPECIALLY assures they won't come to North America.

I think the main problem is that they're reserving a good 3/4 of 2014 for HERESY only and people who actually do travel to see them (like quite a few of my friends) won't be able to see them at all. Adding salt to the wound, they're dedicating all three tours to old albums and that's like saying "yeah we're going to do what all of our fans have requested for years but it's only for the people that give our company the enormous amounts of money it wants." It's kind of like a slap to the face, you know? This isn't the fault of HERESY members; I wish people would stop being stupid for a moment and realize this.

I can definitely understand that - planning to travel to Japan and then finding out you couldn't see the Gazemen because the tour is FC only and you've already spent a mint on the trip itself would be disappointing as all hell. But the people are barking up entirely the wrong tree by going after Heresy members - especially if said members are overseas and can't get to Japan for this series of tours! I'd actually seen some resentment of Heresy before all hell broke loose with this - all this just took it to the next level. I'm just glad it all seems to have died down now - it got UGLY for the first week after Coda.
