Aug. 19th, 2013 10:27 pmGood news: My Fadeless is on the way! Well, along with everyone else's Fadeless, but hey!
Good news: I went to see the Shakespeare in the Park production of Love's Labors Lost this weekend, and it was fantastic. What they did was take the original play and turn it into a contemporary musical - they juxtaposed Shakespeare's original language against modern pop lyrics (toward the end, they even threw in the old hair band song "To Be With You," performed boy-band style, and damn if it wasn't one of the highlights of the show). Basically, the plot is this: A king and four friends make a vow that they will give up their hard-partying ways and spend the next three years swearing off women and devoting themselves to learning - and just as they do, their exes show up, looking to get them back. (And that's why the show still works - because commitmentphobia is timeless).
Good news: I went for my annual with my ob/gyn today and found out my blood pressure is normal. Now, this is a BIG thing for me, because my BP tends to spike under stress, and given what I've been through this year, I was fully expecting it to be at "Um, you sure your heart hasn't exploded?" levels. Hopefully, it'll stay down, so I don't have to go on meds.
Bad news: I broke a chunk out of a filling over the weekend and have to get it fixed tomorrow. And this is a big deal because I am TERRIFIED of dentist drills. However, I know if I don't get it fixed right away, it'll only mean MORE drilling. So I'm just going to open up, take a deep breath and concentrate on the fact that I'll be in Munich in a little over a month.
