May. 27th, 2013 12:18 pmWaiting to board the flight home from Anime North! The flight there was hideous (two hours plus of flight delays plus being held on the tarmac for an hour and a half - by the time I got to my hotel, it was 1 a.m.) but the con itself was great. A LOT of non-anime stuff this year - the most popular fandoms for cosplay were My Little Pony, Homestuck and Adventure Time. Guess I'm not the only old-school otaku not watching that much anime nowadays.
Seriously, I don't think there would be that much pony content if I went to Bronycon. I went to three panels (only one of which - History of My Little Pony - was informative at all) and two photoshoots, and everything I bought in the dealer's room/Arist's Alley was pony (one Pinkie Pie plushie, one chibi Twilight Sparkle, one chibi Fluttershy, a Fluttershy pillow and the MLP comics). No J-rock content AT ALL. The panel track completely vanished. Want to try reviving it next year.
So, yeah, a lot of fun, and I needed it, I think.
