Funny you should mention Kagrra, because Isshi is the other element I drew on for Mizuno's storyline. I figured at least one important detail had to be different from Freddie Mercury, so I chose the circumstances of his death, and based that on Isshi (or at least speculation about Isshi, since we never got answers and probably never will). The death was never dealt with in the film, BTW, because, like Bohemian Rhapsody, it ended several years before its subject's passing. Glad you liked the channeling aspect - it was actually a challenge to vaguely hint at it and yet keep it under wraps until the big reveal!
