Summary: Once upon a time, there was a lowly photographer’s assistant that pined after Yo-ka, a gorgeous model – who, it was said, only dated other models. Then, one day, he happened upon a mysterious bottle on the beach. Enter Subaru, someone who could give him a whole new life – and you ain’t never had a friend like him.
Comments: Yep, that’s a direct I Dream of Jeannie reference Subaru makes toward the end. His bottle and his initial genie costume are based on the ones from that series.

I have FINALLY finished A Whole New World, my Aladdin/I Dream of Jeannie/J-rock super mashup hybrid. It was a LONG fic to write - so long I had to split it into three chapters, and then the first chapter had to be subsplit into two parts - but it was a lot of fun to do. And this all came about because I happened to spot a picture on Tumblr (see the icon) of Subaru looking for all the world like a genie in a bottle. Yo-ka ended up cast in the "Princess" role of the supermodel the main character (MiA) is infatuated with because of a photoshoot where he looks like, well, a supermodel. And yeah, the porn pool makes another appearance. I am never going to let that go. XD

It seems that every time I write one of these urban fantasy/legendary creature stories, they turn out huge. Here's the word counts on those kind of fics, according to AO3:
