vampire_kiki for bringing this to my attention . . .It seems that Stephanie Meyer, she of Twilight infamy, decided to do something VERY SPECIAL for her book's 10th anniversary. And what she did was . . . rewrite Twilight with the genders of the characters inverted. I swear I am not making this up. I am laughing SO hard - what's she going to do next, rewrite Twilight with dogs? Why not just admit she's a one-trick pony and wisely invest her undeserved millions so she can live off this forever? Even big chunks of her Twihards are WTF-ing at this! (Is E.L. James now going to do a gender-inverted 50 Shades of Crap featuring dominatrix Christina Grey and mousy college student Anthony Steele?)
Honestly - when stuff like this happens, it's yet another reminder that the paper and pixels used to distribute this thing would be better used to spread the work of some of the talented fanfiction writers out there. And on a serious note, I'm wondering if the gender-swapped remake is going to do anything to correct the deeply wrong gender politics of the original.
(Best reaction quote to this yet: "Just when you think her writing is rock-bottom, she releases an underground parking garage.")
