Finally, Some GOOD News!

So I had yet another procedure yesterday - the doctor, confused by the conflicting results of my MRI and endoscopic ultrasound - one looked like my polyp was possibly cancerous, the other looked not so bad - decided he was going to do his own exam with a scope and a thorough biopsy of the polyp to the core (since previous ones had, literally, scraped the surface). So I went to the hospital and was put under anesthesia . . . and woke up to the news that he'd taken out the entire thing, it was "just a polyp." It's out of my body and out of my life. I am SO happy and relieved, especially considering that after the second test - which, apparently showed really inaccurate results - I was convinced that I was looking at major surgery and an ostomy bag. So right now I'm kinda sore and on antibiotics, but compared to what it could have been? It's a small price to pay.

So, yes, FINALLY good news! The appendix still needs to come out, but that'll be a relatively minor surgery, and there's no real rush.

Ohh that's amazing! What a relief that you won't need major surgery and that ostomy bag (talk about a nightmare...)

I'd forgotten about your appendix too. Is that coming out soonish or are you waiting for your body to have recovered from the polyp drama first? I'm glad your doctor decided to take a good look for himself though! Problem solved there.

I bet that's put you in a great mood :)
