Went to California last weekend to visit my best friend for my birthday. Had a blast and a half - we went to Fanime Con in San Jose, ate Indian pizza (literally, pizza with butter chicken and Indian spices - it was absolutely terrific) and paid several visits to Mitsuwa Marketplace, which was having a weekend-long okinomiyaki stand. We ended up eating it three times, by the way. I hadn't had okinomiyaki in literally years, and it's one of my favorite foods in the world. Fanime was a lot of fun - it was crowded as hell, but it didn't feel like an "OMG I'M GOING TO DIE!" situation like some other crowded cons. There was a big artists' alley will a LOT of good stuff, and a better-than-average dealer's room - but I was good in both for the most part. (Mainly because there was no VK stuff to speak with. Zip, zero, goose egg. A couple of artists' alley people had Kpop art, but no Jrock).

And meanwhile, I've started my fic for the Give Kai Some Love challege at [livejournal.com profile] kai_pleasure, and I am super excited for the return of Season of Kink on June 1! If you're wondering what that is . . . Season of Kink is a bingo-based fanworks challenge. You receive a "bingo card" full of squares, each bearing the name of a kink. You then fill in squares by creating fanworks featuring those kinks. Once you get five squares filled in a line - up, down, across or diagonally - you have a bingo! It's open to all kinds of fandoms and all kinds of fanworks (writing, art, videos, graphics, etc.) - so if you're interested, check it out! (Believe me, if you're going through a writer's block, this is one of the best things to knock the block out!)
